Named one of the Top 20 Most Influential Tourism Professionals on Twitter, Lauren Cleland is a force to be reckoned with in the tourism marketing world. After putting the Georgia Tourism Division's (Explore Georgia) social media accounts on the map from 2012-2015, Lauren joined the Visit Savannah team. In her first 8 months on the job, Lauren created and implemented the Adrian award-winning social media strategy for Visit Savannah's "Savannah Hauntings" social video series and revamped the organization's digital and social media content strategy.
Lauren leveraged the extreme success of this new strategy to garner a promotion to Digital Content Strategist and the opportunity to build a team dedicated to digital content and social media.
Today, she is responsible for Visit Savannah and Visit Tybee's content calendars, social media advertising programs, internal native content programs, eNewsletter strategies and influencer programs.
Other accomplishments include moving Explore Georgia from #21 to #9 on the list of the Top Social Destination Marketing Organizations, a 2014 Travel + Leisure Best Use of Pinterest SMITTY Award, a 2014 Industry Leader of the Year Award from Georgia's Historic Heartland Travel Association, a 2014 Tourism Partner Award from the Roswell Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors, press coverage in Skift, national speaking engagements and more.
